A Week of Mondays

This has been a week of Mondays.

Knowing that a friend is separated from his wife and young sons, kept in an ICE facility, while they navigate the chaos of his immigration status. While we can help them raise funds, it’s still hard knowing they are apart. Rami was one of my favorite guys to talk with on the IT admin side of things - from general geeking out to getting really good advice on some tough things. When we had a horrible situation happen in the office, Rami was the one I talked with because I felt horrible and knew he would have the advice I needed, even if it wasn’t what I wanted to hear. He always had my back. I’m worried for him.

The smell of death - suspecting a mouse that we can’t find. The markings on the trap indicate a struggle. We can’t smell it in the house. But it’s strong right outside the front door.

Migraines.😖

Something (maybe hawk? maybe the cat itself?) leaving a carcass and its fur all over the front lawn. Stronger smells of death. 🤢

35-year anniversary of the passing of my grandmother, who helped raise me in my early days. 🥰

Tracking down issues in my code only to find that one of them was off by a character - a /. 😒

ADHD battles with one of the kids. Gotta love when the mornings start with emotional dysregulation, yelling, false accusations, and fighting. 😵

If you see me today and see me downhearted, frustrated, and not my normal positive self, know that it’s been a week.

And yes - trash pickup happened and the smell of death is gone. 🗑️

I made some exciting breakthroughs in code that I was fighting with. 👩🏻‍💻

I got done with conference session review and am excited to see the final line-up - holy cow!

But honestly? This week is just sitting heavy on me.

I promise you - it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows here. Not even pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows.

Hopefully things get better soon.
